Savitz, formerly the lead partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' sustainability practice, places his emphasis on big companies and corporate sustainability: "A sustainable corporation is one that creates profit for its shareholders while protecting the environment and improving the lives of those with whom it interacts." Relying on case studies, Savitz demonstrates how a sustainability program in a large company links virtually every business function, from production and manufacturing to finance and accounting. If executed properly, he writes, "A sustainable business stands an excellent chance of being more successful tomorrow than it is today, and remaining successful, not just for months or even years, but for decades or generations."
